LifeProof’s Texas Takeover | X Games 2016

Last weekend LifeProof took on Texas representing at the 2016 Summer X Games in Austin and the kick-off of the Red Bull Cliff Diving 2016 World Series at Possum Kingdom Lake. Check out the first feature in our Texas takeover below – the hottest action from X Games Austin.

X Games is the pinnacle of extreme sports action where BMX, Moto X and Skateboarding athletes take to the stage to unleash a jaw dropping performance in the hopes of taking home an  X Games medal. LifeProof is proud to be an official sponsor of the event and have such a strong team representing.

Our Team LifeProof pros put together a display of astonishing runs over the weekend, taking home a stack of trophies!

Lizzie Armanto captured a Silver in the women’s skateboard park and was the first LifeProof athlete to reach the podium.

Jarryd McNeil, crushed the competition with 39% of the fan vote for Moto X Best Whip run. The Gold medal finish earned him his second Gold after taking Gold in the Step Up contest making this his seventh X Games medal overall.

“Two golds in two different disciplines, I couldn’t ask for any better,” said McNeil. “I guess hard work pays and I’m stoked. I’m stoked to have LifeProof on board as my primary sponsor.”

McNeil wooed the crowd and fans everywhere with his final whip, turning his bike backwards in the air.

McNeil and Armanto were two of the five competing Team LifeProof athletes at X Games this weekend. Adding to their epic performances, Johnny Lewis finished seventh in the Harley-Davidson Flat-Track Motorcycle Race and Gary Young placed tenth in Toyota BMX Park. Tom Scharr placed fifth in today’s Toyota Men’s Skateboard Park.
