Night of the Jumps Shenzhen Recap

Last weekend saw the 10th stop of Night of the Jumps FIM Freestyle MX World Championships take place in Shenzhen, China. Over the two days of competition in the Shenzhen Sports Centre the 10 World Cup competitors faced off and as always put on a great show (with some flashes of drama) for the packed out audience.

A series of unfortunate events hampered the early stages of competition including Rob Adelberg’s hard crash during training and a number of riders’ luggage going missing along with their riding gear and bike parts! David Rinaldo missed practice and ended up having to borrow his team mate Podmol’s riding gear and bike parts from other riders to ride and qualify!

The LifeProof sponsored Best Whip Contest on the night was taken by Spain’s Dany Torres!

Ultimately David Rinaldo topped the podium victory on the second night and now leads in the overall World Championship standings at 172 points ahead of  Maikel Melero on 160 points and Australia’s Rob Adelberg on 148 points.
