Spotlight on Kona, Triahtlon’s Most Iconic Event

The IronMan World Championship has been held yearly in Kona, Hawaii since its inception in 1978 and will be ran this weekend. It has the ultimate legendary status in the Triathlon sport with all athletes looking to get there one day and dream of taking the win.  We have to remember that the IronMan race was originally based on a bet between athletes as to which discipline developed the fittest athletes the rules were simple – Swim 2.4 miles! Bike 112 miles! Run 26.2 miles! Brag for the rest of your life! It has since developed into one of the biggest sporting events in the world attracting some of the best athletes from across the globe looking to be crowned the IRONMAN.

LifeProof are proud to sponsor IronMan Kona, Hawaii and also have LifeProof athlete Andy Potts competing for his 7th time, he will be looking to take home the championship for a second time. Get an insight into the mind-set of Andy Potts here.
